This Pair of Scott Drake C5ZZ-18500-C Heater Core End Caps are foam rubber end caps that are meant to protect your new heater core from getting damaged due to excessive vibration. They'll also help prevent rattling and help improve your heater's performance by sealing off the heater box. These heater core end caps are meant to be used on all 1965-1966 Mustangs and 1967-1968 Mustangs that don't have air conditioning.

*These heater core end caps work best with original heater cores or CJ Pony Parts' copper/brass heater core (HC10). Trimming will be required with our aluminum heater core (HC1).

Scott Drake has become an iconic brand that redefines quality for reproduction and aftermarket Mustang parts for 1965 to present Mustangs, and has become the standard for OEM quality Mustang parts that offer the best fit, durability and quality. Every part is designed to look and function exactly like the original, right down to the tiny details that the manufacturers of standard reproductions tend to ignore.

Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works but requires trimming. Not really Required? I used these as I thought a previous owner did not replace them but I am not sure these came from Ford originally. They seem overkill with the top and bottom seal for the heater element. I trimmed it a lot to fit and used it, but probably not really necessary to rebuild heater box. Used with the brass/copper style core. Curious if anyone has these in an old factory box?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Major modification I purchased these with the heater box rebuild kit and ended up cutting and modifying them greatly to work with the aluminum Heater cour. I made it were the heater cour didn't move but probably could have gotten away without using it. I could see how this would be a great product for the copper cour.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not aluminum core friendly Purchased for use on Scott Drake aluminum core. Description said may require some trimming. I doubt that person ever actually tried to do this, material very hard to trim and risky using razor. Sticky back weather stripping would have been better choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Fit These fit the ends of the new heater core perfectly. The heater core is in no danger of moving around in the heater box.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heater core end supports Too much trimming to make fit, adding time to the installation of heater core box.
Date published: 2018-04-07
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does not fit This did not fit. Even after cutting the circles the heater box would not seal.

Why will these only work with non AC 65-66 Mustangs? They ALL use the same heater. The AC is a totally separate system isn't it?

Asked by: Blimoush
These will work on all 65-66 mustangs with or without a/c and 67-68 non a/c cars.
