Scott Drake Black Powder-Coated Curved Race Monte Carlo Bar for 1967-1968 Mustangs.

Designed to stop shock tower flex and maintain proper wheel alignment during hard cornering, standard Monte Carlo bars were first engineered and designed by Carroll Shelby. This extra support helps prevent shock tower stress cracks and provides added rigidity during hard driving.

Scott Drake's heavy duty curved, black powder-coated Race Monte Carlo Bar features a thicker diameter tube and improved fender brackets with premium Heim joints for smoother operation. Scott Drake also uses stamped square holes in the top of each fender bracket to allow for the use of lower profile carriage bolts. This upgraded Monte Carlo bar will provided your classic pony with the extra support it needs to finish the race first. Order yours today from CJ's!

Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install. I bought this monte carlo bar for 2 reasons. 1: I was afraid a fixed bar wouldn't fit easily, and I have heard stories of people having to fight them to get them in. 2: I wanted a thicker stronger bar for reduced body twisting and good looks. This was super easy to install and the adjustable part made it where I can adjust it to fit exactly the right length for my engine bay. I put this in my 67 mustang. The only thing about this that I don't like about this bar is that you can grab the hump part and move it up and down almost 1/2 inch, this is because the adjustable part is like on joints so it's not fixed in place. With that said, I would still buy this instead of a non adjustable monte carlo bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Third time a charm. Originally had a curved unadjustable bar, but a/c was added and it hit the compressor and hoses. Then tried the slightly bent bar from Great Western. Might have worked, but the brackets are not pre-drilled and I couldn't tell it it would fit and if you needed access to the distributor, it would need to be removed. This bar like the previous fixed bar goes aroud the aftermarket distributors. Bar comes with brackets with pre-drilled holes and they line up perfectly with the shock tower mount bolts. Just turn the wheels hard left or right and it was a 15 minute job to install. Haven't drilled top holes thru the fender yet using the CJ bolt kit, but they feel like they will fit. Easy to adjust the length of the bar, but be careful and don't drop the special round "washer/sleeve" that fit in the mounting brackets on the nut side. The brackets come with rectangular holes for the existing tower bolts which will allow you to slightly push out the shock towers if you use a rubber mallet to knock the brackets flush with the fenders and then fully tighten the bolts. I think the fender to fender distance is supposed to be 40". I only needed to turn the Helm joints one turn. When installed, there is a little up/down play due to the design. In my case maybe 1/2 inch as the bar rests on one of the a/c compressor unused bolt holes.

Hello, Does this bar fit on my Mustang 68 302 with MSD Hei Cap distributor and Air Conditioner? I installed the MSD distributor and had to removed the straight bar installed, my concern it to order is the AC Compressor, Thanks

Asked by: hugo1926
It should clear the compressor if it is in the stock mounting location.
