Scott Drake Parking Brake Handle 1967-1968 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality I bought this parking brake handle a month ago because my old handle broke. The old handle was very difficult to remove but when it finally came off it took me less than 2 minutes to install this parking brake. I use my Mustang as a daily driver and use my parking brake all the time, it feels solid and even if it would brake again it will be much easier to remove because of the hex threaded insert.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great! I ultimately had to take the assembly out and drill out the old pin. I was good though because it gave me an opportunity to clean up the assembly and repaint it.

Product Questions

Whats the best way to get the old drive pin out so I can remove the parking brake handle? Also is the drive pin, in the kit with the new handle, to be used with the set screw, that also comes with handle, or is it an either or option?

Asked by: mkemp300
Use a saw to cut on each side of the pin all the way to the metal. Break out the plastic so you can get vise grips on the pin. Pull like crazy on the pin till it comes out.

Hi, I recently bought this item for my 1967 mustang (coupe) since the old one broke. Sadly it does not fit, the original handle seems to be bigger. Any suggestions? Ralph

Asked by: 1289henk
I figured it out, the metal from the old handle was still stuck. I used an iron saw to cut it off and drilled out the old metal insert.
