The Extreme G-Trac Brace, also known as a K-Member Brace, is a direct bolt-on addition to your 2015-2022 Mustang and provides greatly improved front chassis stiffening. This revolutionary G-Trac Brace was developed by Steeda to help reinforce the K-member and help maintain proper suspension geometry in Max-G cornering!
Features and Benefits:
- Easy Bolt-In Installation
- Constructed from Chrome Moly Steel
- Improves Stiffness Front Suspension Components
- Reinforces K-Member and Control Arm Mounts
- Includes All Necessary Hardware and Instructions
- Made in the USA
Steeda has designed the Extreme G-Trac Brace to mount as close to the control arm mounts as possible. This helps strengthen the connection between the control arm mounts and the rear of the sub frame. This makes the load path more direct, and gives much more effective chassis stiffening. Achieving this ensures the suspension geometry doesn't change during situations that may call for high speed cornering and increased chassis loads.
*The Steeda Extreme G-Trac Brace WILL clear long tube headers.
Please Note: This will not fit 2015-2021 GT350/GT350R or 2020 GT500.
Vehicle Fitment:
- 2015-2022 Mustang

So speaking with Steeda about what the next step was. Since I can't put their strut brace on because of my super charger I wanted to still tighten up the front suspension. They recommended their Extreme G-Trac brace.
So today we're going to install one on my 2015 Mustang GT. The Extreme G-Trac brace is make of chrome moly steel and is made in the USA by Steeda. The brace is going to basically tie in your lower sub-frame and strengthen it by putting a cross bar and then tie in four mounting points, which is going to stiffen up the control arms and the entire sub-frame of the car to make the front end much tighter. Basically, you are tying in the bottom instead of tying in the top when you go with a strut brace. Now if you do have room for a strut brace I do suggest adding it because that's going to tie the entire front end of the car together. But in my case I can't go with one so we're going with the G-Trac Extreme.
For this installation I'm going to need a lift and a jack or jack stands, 1/2" ratchet, 22 mm socket, 22 mm wrench, T60 Torx or 12 mm Allen key, Torque wrench, and cutting pliers.
The extreme G-Trac brace is going to brace what's probably the weakest part of your factory sub-frame, these two long arms here that come back to your floors. The way the brace works: it's going to mount here and here, give us a bar straight across to support these, and then it's going to come over and then go over here and bolt to the media part of the sub-frame underneath your engine.
The brace is going to mount on the smaller hole here on the outside corner of your sub-frame going towards the floor. They include these spacers. The spacer is going to go in the larger hole here. Basically use this and sort of fish it back into place. And then do the same on the other side.
Now put the brace up into place. Bolt through and put the nut on top. Do the same on the other side.
This applied front hardware is going to go up through here, up into this opening here. It is actually threaded at the top. So make sure you have it lined up properly; this will thread in.
We're going to go back through and tighten every thing down. The front bolts are going to take a 12 mm Allen Key, which is probably a socket or Allen Key a lot of you aren't going to have in your home tool box. If you don't, what you can do is grab a bolt head that will fit up in there, torque a nut on the bottom, and that will allow you to tighten it up.
Torque specs for the rear bolts and front bolts is between 55 and 60 foot-pound.
Once you're finished you can either leave these here or you can cut them off.
Steeda has been selling the G-Trac brace for years for other models. It's always done a great job and it also does the same thing on the 2015 Mustang. As you saw the installation is pretty simple as well. Probably take you around half and hour and you'll be back on the road in no time.
