Pair of Black Weld-On Standard Length Subframe Connectors for 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 Mustangs.

Subframe connectors help put more power to the ground by reducing chassis flex. When stepping on the gas pedal, engine torque will be instantly transmitted to the rear end, rather than lost through flexing of the unibody. This is especially noticeable during drag race launches.

These standard length subframe connectors extend from the front frame rails to the rear frame rails, tying your suspension together. Seat Brackets are included with these subframe connectors for additional stiffening. This pair will reduce the body flex of your Mustang.

*1996-1998 Mustang Cobras must notch the transmission crossmember at the frame rails so that the subframe connectors can sit flush on the frame rails.

Which brand subframe connector would fit a 91 convertible without any additional fabrigation? In several of the descriptions they say they need modification.

Asked by: super cooper
Usually with a convertible, modification of the rocker brackets is necessary because you will be welding the subframe connectors to where the brackets are riveted to the frame.
