Basic T-5 Transmission Conversion Kit for 1967-1973 Mustangs with an Early Model Bellhousing.

This kit provides the necessary pieces to let 1967-1973 Mustang owners mount a modern T-5 transmission onto an early model bellhousing.

Basic T-5 Conversion Kit Includes:
- California Pony Cars T-5 adapter plate 6-bolt (T5AP)
- Transmission crossmember (T5C8)
- Drive shaft slip yoke
- Rubber transmission mount

T5AP works with bellhousings with these casting numbers:
C5AA-6394-A
C5DA-6394-A
C9OA-6394-A
D2OA-6394-AA

Is the input shaft on the t-5 the same as a ford top loader such that I don’t have to change the clutch or pilot bushing in the engine. Small block 289. Thanks

You will have to change the clutch and change the bushing to a bearing.

I have a 1968 390 gt will this kit work? Or will the 390 have more power than the trans can take thanks

If you use an upgraded t5 it should hold up but you will have to check the casting numbers on the bellhousing to see if the adapter will work with it, they are C5AA-6394-A C5DA-6394-A C9OA-6394-A D2OA-6394-AA
