Tools you'll need for this installation: a lift or a jack and jack stands, 18 millimeter socket, 21 millimeter socket, an extension, half inch ratchet, and a torque wrench.
Okay, we have the jeep up in the air. We're not gonna remove any bolts just yet. What we're gonna do, we're gonna go onto the passenger side and loosen all six bolts on that side. Don't remove any. Just loosen them and then you can remove the driver's side and for this, you're either gonna want a big wrench or an impact gun. We're gonna start off by loosening the nut right here on the very front of the passenger side. The reason we're not removing any nuts or bolts just yet is for proper bolt alignment for when we reinstall everything. We're onto the second mount. This one is right behind the front tire. We'll just keep moving back towards the rear of the jeep. All these mounts are along the frame. We're at the rear of the jeep now and there's two back here. One here and one right here. We loosened all the mounts on the passenger side. Now we're gonna come to the driver's side and remove all the mounts. We can finally remove both rear bolts on the driver's side. Now we can remove the final bolt on the driver's side.
Okay. We have all the hardware removed and now is where it gets really interesting and it's time to put the spacers in. There's a couple different ways you can do this, but you need to lift the body up off the frame. If you're in a driveway, you can use jacks for this. If you're in a shop, you can use pole jacks or you can even use the lift. So we're fortunate enough to have a lift, so we're actually using the lift to lift the body up off the frame just enough to get these spacers in. We're gonna start at the front. This is the most difficult one. We have just enough room to get the spacer in and now we can let it down. For these next mounts, you're gonna install the spacer between the body and frame and then install the provided bolt and washer underneath. Get the spacer in there and then the bolt. Okay. We can now let the driver side down.
Okay. We let the driver side down and we have all the bolts installed. We're gonna thread them in just a little but still leave them loose and then we're gonna go and remove everything on the passenger side. All the hardware's removed on the passenger side. Now we can lift it up and install the spacers. Okay. We have all the bolts installed. Now we're gonna put this jeep up on the lift and tighten all the bolts down evenly. Okay. We have all the spacers and hardware in. Now we're gonna tighten it all down and then torque everything to 75 foot pounds. Once you get both sides tightened down, you can torque everything to 75 foot pounds. Okay. Our TeraFlex body lift kit is installed to give us more room for even a bigger tire and it gave it a bit more of an aggressive stance. Installation wasn't that bad. It was pretty straight forward. But it will probably take you three to four hours to do and before you know it. You'll be heading off road.
