Product Description

Turbosmart Supersonic Smart Port Blow Off Valve for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 3.5L EcoBoost F150s.

One of the benefits about owning a turbo-powered 2013-2016 3.5L EcoBoost F150 is being able to hear the turbos spool and release boost pressure when letting off the throttle. The problem is that the factory blow off valve is restrictive and quiet. What’s the fun of having twin-turbos under the hood if you can’t hear them to begin with? That’s where Turbosmart steps in with their all-new Supersonic Smart Port Blow Off Valve specifically designed for your 2013-2016 3.5L EcoBoost F150!

The stock BOV on the F150 can be prone to multiple issues. Its plastic construction makes it vulnerable to becoming brittle and cracking over time. And if you want to turn up the boost for more power, there’s no guarantee that your stock BOV can handle the extra boost pressure. With an all aircraft grade aluminum alloy construction, how do you say no to Turbosmart’s new direct-fit replacement Supersonic Smart Port Blow Off Valve?

Includes:
- Supersonic Smart Port Blow Off Valve
- Straight and Banjo Nipples
- Mounting Screws
- Spring Clamps
- Instructions

This new Smart Port BOV TS-0215-1367 is made using a brand new process that utilizes specialized alloys and coatings, which means a lighter and faster moving piston. Being the most responsive BOV on the market, it’s capable of handling over 30 PSI of boost! With swift valve response, a soft spring in the body of this Blow Off Valve helps reduce compressor surge. This spring helps prevent premature boost venting, resulting in a quicker turbo spool-up and better all-around performance in your 2013-2016 3.5L EcoBoost F150.

The smaller dimensions of the new Supersonic Blow Off Valve TS-0215-1367 makes it an absolute breeze to install on your F150. Making things even easier, you’ll have everything you could possibly need to install with ease along with detailed instructions. Also, larger o-rings have been fitted in the base to make installation easier than ever.

Please Note: The cp-e designed universal flange (P/N: UMFG00003M) must be used to add a Turbosmart Supersonic Smart Port Blow Off Valve (P/N: TS02151367 or TS02151371) to any 2013-2014 3.5L EcoBoost F-150 equipped with the cp-e Delta Core Front Mount Intercooler Kit (P/N: FDCK00003T).

Turbosmart Blow Off Valve Supersonic Smart Port EcoBoost 3.5L F-150 2013-2016 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: The very new feature we plan on turning up the boost on our 2016 EcoBoost F150, but the factory blow off valve is restrictive and it can leak with the added boost pressure. In order to prepare for the added boost and to make our truck sound cooler we're going to be installing a Turbosmart supersonic smart port blow off valve. This Turbosmart blow off valve is going to be a direct fit replacement for the factory valve. It's going to be responsive while allowing to hold over 30 pounds of boost. It will also prevent premature boost venting resulting quicker spool and it's going to sound better that the factory blow off valve as well. Today we're going to be installing it on our 2016 EcoBoost F150.

Tools you'll need for this installation: 1/4 inch ratchet, 7 millimeter socket, 8 millimeter socket, 3/8 ratchet, 13 millimeter socket, 3/16 hex bit, 3 millimeter hex bit, 4 millimeter hex bit and a set of pliers.

In order to replace the factory blow off valve, the intercooler actually has to come out of the truck. But as you can see we have an after market bumper with a skid plate, which won't allow us to drop the intercooler out. The first thing we have to do is remove the bumper but you probably won't have to do that. With our skid plate out of the way, we're not going to loosen all the clamps on the intercooler pipe and remove all the intercooler pipes from the intercooler.

Disconnect the bypass hose and the connector going to the blow off valve. Remove the two 13 millimeter bolts securing in the bracket for the intercooler. Hold it up with one hand just in case it decides it wants to come crashing down. Remove the bracket from the intercooler and lower the intercooler out. Remove the 8 millimeter screws securing the blow off valve to the intercooler. Then rotate it counterclockwise to remove it. Grab your intercooler and install the blow off valve adapter. This part is going to require some modification if you have a 2015, 2016, or 2017 EcoBoost. The bracket that is supplied is meant to work for the 2013 and 2014 intercooler. There's no way to mount this bracket to the intercooler to the adapter. This bracket is supposed to make sure this adapter doesn't spin but this bracket will not fit. What we're going to do, we're just going to bend this bracket to make it fit.

It bends pretty easily. Mount the bracket to the adapter and bend the bracket to make it line up and install the factory screw and tighten up the bolt. Install the supplied O ring on top of the adapter, then the clamp, then install the blow off valve around the clamp. Make sure it's seated properly. Rotate the blow off valve to where you want it. Then tighten the clamp. It's ready to go back in the truck. Before reinstalling the intercooler, you need to install this dummy plug on the wire going to the factory blow off valve. Doesn't matter which wire goes where. Just grab one wire, crimp it down and do the same thing to the other wire. We're doing this because there's no longer going to be an electrical blow off valve. It's going to be mechanical now so this needs to be bypassed. Then you can just tuck it away.

Reinstall the intercooler. Reinstall the intercooler bracket. Reconnect the intercooler pipes. Once all the clamps are tightened, grab the provided plug and put it into the bypass valve hose, no longer using this. Install the provided hose clamp and hose on the barb on top of the blow off valve. We can now fish the hose up towards the top of the engine bay. Remove the engine cover to locate the map sensor on top of the intake manifold. Remove the connector from the sensor. Then remove the sensor from the intake manifold.

With the factory map sensor out, we can install this map adapter and install a bard fitting and a plug into it so we can use a vacuum line to the blow off valve. Replace the thread sealant to both fittings, make sure it seals nice and properly. This can now go in the truck. Install it in the factory location with the factory screw. Do not over tighten this. You don't want to break the intake manifold. Install the map sensor. Then use the provided screws to secure the sensor to the adapter. Then tighten it with a 3 millimeter hex key. Plug it back in. Prep the vacuum line that runs to the blow off valve to the map adapter. Cut it to the appropriate length that you want and then put it on the barb.

Tidy up this hose with the provided zip ties, reinstall the engine cover and your installations finished. Let's see what it sounds like. Our Turbosmart blow off valve is installed. It sounds really aggressive. I love the way it sounds. It should definitely hold it to boost a lot better than the factory one. Installation should take about two hours and before you know it, you'll be heading down the road.
