do you have a diagram on where this goes- it did not match the broken one on my car

Sorry, we do not have a diagram. There should be a small bracket at the firewall where this attaches.

no bracket attached to the fire wall of my 1969 mach 1 351w that will hold one end of the clutch rod retaining spring and other end to the top of the equalizer bar. do I need to buy cjpony part#cebasb for a 67-68 mustang?

It wouldn't be the correct part for your application, you may have to modify it to make it work.
