Tools Required:
- 7mm Socket or Box Wrench
- 10mm Socket or Box Wrench
- Drill with 1/4 inch bit
- Trim Removal Tool, Needle Nose pliers, or Flat Head Screw Driver
- Coat Hanger
- 22 Gauge Scotchlock Connectors
- Small, Round Wire Eyelet (for 22 ga. wire)
- 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch piece of Velcro
- Zip Ties (if desired for cleaner install)
Install Difficulty:

- Moderate Project
1. To begin installing your new Mustang Raptor Performance Single Stage Shift Light, remove the A/C vent grilles from center radio bezel.
2. Remove two 7mm bolts from the passenger side A/C vent, then remove the vent.
3. Remove the glove box by removing two more 7mm screws located underneath the Mustang glove box. Then, drill a 1/4 inch hole in the A/C vent duct. This is where you will run the wiring through the vent.
4. Straighten out a coat hanger, put a small hook on one end, and feed it through the passenger side A/C vent, then through the duct, until you see it come through the center A/C vent.
5. Tie the wires from the end of the Raptor Performance shift light around the hook you've made with the coat hanger.
6. Pull the wire through the A/C vent, then feed it through the 1/4 inch hole you previously drilled. Direct it down towards the PCM, which is located behind the passenger side kick panel.
7. Put a 1/2 inch x 1/2 inch piece of Velcro on the shift light clip and stick it inside of the vent. Make sure to leave enough room to reinstall the A/C vent grille.
8. Use a trim clip removal tool, needle nose pliers, or a flat head screw driver to remove the single plastic clip that attaches the passenger side Mustang kick panel. I used medical forceps, just because I had them on hand.
9. Remove the two 7mm bolts that hold the bracket that is in front of the PCM. This will allow you to access the PCM plug connector.
10. Loosen the 10mm bolt that holds the PCM plug connector to the PCM unit itself.
11. Splice the RED power wire from the shift light to the left most RED wire on the grey connector. Splice the GREEN wire from the shift light to the GREEN wire with WHITE STRIPE that comes out of the PCM plug...it is the only GREEN wire with a WHITE STRIPE and it is in the corner of the PCM plug (PIN #26), next to a white wire and 2 pink wires. If you have the dual mode light with launch control, splice the WHITE wire from the shift light to the WHITE wire with ORANGE STRIPE on the PCM plug (PIN #68)...this is the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) wire.
12. Install a round eyelet wire connector to the black shift light wire, and install it on the existing bolt on the body, located underneath the bracket holding the plugs with all the wires.
13. This is how the shift light will sit inside the A/C vent. Simply reinstall the Mustang A/C register, and go row some gears!
14. Once you have completed the installation of your new Mustang Raptor Performance Single Stage Shift Light, follow Raptor Performance's instruction sheet on how to program the shift light.
