2019 Rear Axle
Your 2019 Mustang's rear axle turns your wheels, creating speed out of all the horsepower you produce. Depending on your driving needs, changing your gear ratio or half shafts may improve your Mustang's performance.
If you plan on launching your 2019 Mustang but want to keep your independent rear suspension, then you should consider upgrading your half-shafts. Improved half-shafts will be better able to stand up to launches. The GT350's half-shafts are hardier than the GT or EcoBoost and make a great upgrade. Ford Performance also offers a set of half-shafts that are rated for severe duty.
Changing your rear end gear ratio is another way you can customize your Mustang's performance to meet your exact needs. Ring and pinion sets let you choose a different gear ratio. With a higher gear ratio you'll have a lower top speed, but fast acceleration. Lower gear ratios will improve your fuel economy and get you a higher top speed. If you've never changed out ring and pinion gears before, it's highly recommended that you get professional help for this installation.
Differentials affect traction and how your Mustang responds. While all Mustangs come with a limited-slip differential now, but not all LSDs are the same. Changing to a worm-gear design may be able to improve your performance. Without any clutches, there are no parts that can wear out in a worm-gear LSD, and you won't need to run limited slip additive in your oil.
Upgrading your Mustang's rear axle can improve your day-to-day driving.
