1965-1973 Mustang Upper Ball Joint 4-Bolt
This Upper Ball Joint will fit 1965-1973 Mustangs with a 4-Bolt Upper Control Arm.
Is your classic Mustang's suspension making all sorts of racket while you're driving and/or stopping? If that's the case, it might mean that your upper ball joint is due for replacement. If your suspension uses a 4-bolt lower control arm, this is the new Upper Ball Joint you need! It includes everything you need for installation on your 1965-1973 Mustang.

Tools Required:
- 3/4, 5/8, 9/16-inch Wrenches
- Hammer
- Pitman Puller
- Screw Drivers (various)
- Pliers
- Grease
- Jack
Install Difficulty:

1. To start the installation of your new Mustang upper ball joint, jack up the car and place jack stands under the frame. Remove the front wheels for more visibility.

2. Remove the screw and bushing, then remove the Mustang sway bar with a 9/16-inch socket. Remove the two screws on the strut bar on the lower control arm.

3. Remove the pin on the upper ball joint, then unscrew the nut, but don't remove it completely. Use a pitman puller arm to remove the spindle assembly attached to the Mustang ball joint.

4. If the old upper ball joint is assembly is attached with rivets, you need to cut each of the rivets.


5. When your old upper ball joint is removed, install the new with the four bolts and washer.


6. Install the spindle and add the new bolt on the new Mustang ball joint, secure by the new pin.

7. Reinstall the strut rod and the sway bar screws onto the Mustang lower control arm.

8. Repeat the same steps for the other side.

9. Put the wheel back on. Lower the car and take the car to get an alignment before ride anywhere else. Enjoy your new Mustang upper ball joint.
