Mustang Oxygen Sensors
Maintain the Proper Air-to-Fuel Ratio with Mustang Oxygen Sensors
Oxygen Sensors
The oxygen sensor monitors the level of unburned oxygen in exhaust fumes to determine the air-to-fuel ratio. If your Mustang's check engine light is on, it’s idling rough, or you notice a sudden dip in MPG, you may need a new oxygen sensor.
Picking up a new oxygen sensor from Ford will guarantee compatibility. These direct-fit replacements are sold individually. Since they’re easy to install, you’ll be back on the road in no time. Ford offers oxygen sensors for both the front and rear.
You may also need a new Mustang O2 sensor if you're installing long tube headers. BBK offers extension harnesses that will let you relocate your oxygen sensor. They feature OEM connectors for a simple plug-in installation. BBK oxygen sensor extensions have heat protective sleeves and won’t require splicing into the factory harness.
Maintaining the proper air-to-fuel ratio will ensure you’re getting the best performance from your Mustang. Be sure to check on other important Mustang sensors like the oil sending unit, coolant temperature sensor, and throttle position sensor.
