Upgrading the Mustang's engine is a goal for lots of enthusiasts. Whether you’re turning your classic Mustang into a track car or want to get more power from your EcoBoost, a turbo kit will give you massive power gains.

Turbocharger kits force cold air into your engine. With more air to burn, the engine is able to put out much more power. How much you increase that horsepower is up to you, but some kits can offer over 600 hp at the wheels. An upgrade of that level will require a new performance fuel system to match.

More moderate turbos will work with the stock setup. However, a custom tune is usually required for aftermarket turbo kits. Failure to update your tuning can lead to catastrophic engine failure. You may want to get a performance cold air intake as well to take full advantage of your new turbo.

If you have a modern or classic V8 Mustang, a supercharger kit will often be a better option for your engine.
