US Mags is one of the oldest custom wheel companies in the business, having started in the mid-1960s by legendary racer Parnelli Jones and his long time crew chief, Art Hale. US Mags began during Jones' affiliation with Firestone, as he needed a source for wheels to accommodate the performance tires he was selling through his retail stores. The US Mags brand quickly grew in the late 1960s, becoming available throughout most of the Western US. In the 1970s, Hale began expanding the business through a series of acquisitions. Eventually, Hale sold US Mags and the other associated companies in 1988, though he and his son stayed on to provide leadership and expanding the company, though the US Mags brand and logo eventually did get sold off.

In late 2009, the Hale family reacquired US Mags and, using the latest in wheel design and engineering technology, launched new products. The US Mags brand reintroduced the original five-spoke standard wheel and kidney bean “indy” designs that fuel the custom wheel market so many years before. Each line was offered by US Mags in sizes ranging from 15-inches to 20-inches. US Mags is currently based in Southern California, near Los Angeles, and is part of MHT Wheels, which owns numerous other popular wheel brands.
