Get the Right Mid-Pipes for You
If you love the sound of classic muscle cars, then an h-pipe is most likely going to be the right pick for you. These pipes create a deep throaty sound, and can help with low-end torque, perfect for launches.
If performance is your main goal, then an x-pipe is a little freer flowing than an h-pipe. With an x-pipe, you'll get a high-pitched raspy sound.
If you have a single exhaust system on your classic, then you have a y mid-pipe. If replacing a damaged exhaust system with a factory-like replica is your goal then a y-pipe is a good choice. You'll still find a few that are a step up from your original if you want a little bump without having to make significant modifications.
With exhaust, the most important thing is making sure you have great part compatibility. Getting the right headers to work with your mid-pipes is a must.
