1999 Mustang Headers

Customize Your 1999 Mustang’s Exhaust with a New Set of Headers
1999 Headers
If you want to enhance the performance and sound of your 1999 Mustang, a set of headers is a great place to start.
Determining what the overall goal for your Mustang is, and what type of installation you're willing to tackle, will help you narrow down and select the right set of headers. If power and torque are what you're after, you should plan your exhaust upgrade using long tube headers. But for an easy bolt-on upgrade to eliminate the restrictive stock exhaust while enhancing exhaust tone, you may prefer to use short tube headers.
Each style of headers has its own benefits and drawbacks. Long tube designs create better flow and increase scavenging effects, leading to greater horsepower and torque gains. But, the long tube design poses a much more complicated installation requiring the removal of the K-member and starter.
The short tube design uses a much easier, bolt-on installation process. They also typically have a wider tube diameter to remove stock restrictions, increasing horsepower and torque in the lower RPM range. Short tube headers are also less expensive than long tube headers.
