When you're restoring a classic 1969 Mach 1 Fastback Mustang, you definitely don't want to neglect the carpet. Replace the faded, torn, or stained stock with ACC Carpet’s Molded Original-Style Carpet! This carpet comes heat-molded in two separate pieces for a simple installation. It features an original-style 100% nylon construction created from DuPont 1850 filament tufted on a 5/32 loop machine. The carpet is available in a huge selection of colors made from the finest dyes available. This carpeting also has a heavy 36-oz. jute padding attached to its underside. It even comes with the correct-colored insert heel pads that are identical to the ones originally found in ‘69 Mach 1 Fastbacks!

This carpet is available with or without mass back. Mass back is a tough, rubber layer between the carpet and the jute insulation that holds the form and rigidity of the carpet while minimizing road noise. At 40mils thick, it virtually eliminates the need for Dynamat or any other type of additional sound deadener. Mass back carpet fits exactly like the original carpet while increasing moldability, sound deadening, and insulation. It also retains its shape much better than a standard poly-backed carpet, making for a much easier installation.

Please Note: ACC's carpets do not come with pre-cut holes, allowing you to make the necessary cuts only where needed for your various interior components.

Tech Tip: When you first take your new carpet out of the box, you may notice quite a few wrinkles. This is normal. We recommend laying the carpet out in the sun for a few hours to help soften the jute backing and to help reduce the number of wrinkles that are visible before installation.
