Cut pile carpet is similar to what is found in most domestic vehicles since 1974. The cut pile material creates more of a plush feel compared to the original nylon carpet found in 1969-1970 Mustangs.

The Molded Cut Pile Carpet for 1969-1970 Mustangs is precision heat-molded in two separate pieces for a perfect fit and easy installation. It is made using ACC's premium nylon cut pile material. Constructed from 100% first-quality DuPont yarn, the cut pile material is tufted on a 1/8 gauge machine with 14 ounces of yarn per square yard. It is then dyed black using the finest dyes available and tested for ozone humidity fading and light fastness. The underside of the carpet features heavy 36-ounce jute padding for insulation.

This Molded Cut Pile Carpet comes equipped with an original style, color-matching front heel and toe pad on the driver side. ACC Carpets manufactures all of its carpets to meet or exceed OEM specifications. You can also choose to add mass backing, which injects a tough rubber layer between the carpet and the jute insulation that increases the form and rigidity of the carpet while decreasing road noise. At 40mils thick, it eliminates the need for any type of additional sound deadener. Mass-backed carpet will fit just like the original style carpet once it is installed, but it will increase moldability, sound deadening, and insulation. Mass-backed carpet retains shape much better than a standard poly-backed carpet making for a much easier installation.

*The option for Fastbacks will fit 1969-1970 Fastback Mach 1 Mustangs, but will not look correct.

Please Note: ACC's carpets do not come with pre-cut holes, allowing you to make the necessary cuts only where needed for various interior components.

Tech Tip: When you first take your new carpet out of the box, you may notice quite a few wrinkles. This is normal. We recommend laying the carpet out in the sun for a few hours to help soften the jute backing and to help reduce the amount of wrinkles that are visible prior to installation.
