Order Blowfish Racing's Manual Shifter Support Bracket for your 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 or 2020 V6, EcoBoost, or GT Mustang from CJ Pony Parts and start enjoying clean, precise shifts without grinding gears today!

Vehicle Fitment

This product will fit the following Mustang years:

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more lockouts The shifts feel much more precise even on the factory shifter, and no more lockouts under hard acceleration (the ecoboost will twist it with ease). I did not get any nvh despite having the shifter mounted directly to the trans but there are plenty of vibrations traveling through the shifter thanks to the 4 banger (more when using ac). It will warm the shifter a little since it sits about an inch above the exhaust, but that might come in handy in winter lol. Word of advice: make sure your transmission is working fine before installing this, as most technicians will ask you to remove it before doing warranty work on the transmission.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product with precision shifts! Just did the installation yesterday. It took a little more time than in the video, but it went in without problems. You get a step-by-step installation manual with drawings to show you exactly how to install it. The precision of the shifter after the install is definitely better than the soft rubber stock mount. This is how it should have been from the factory. Nice precision shifts. Note: (European GT model, can't confirm this on US models) The original shift support mount has a clip on one side that stops the shift support mount from falling down off the threaded pins. You'll need use a little extra effort to pull the original shift support piece down. I added two pics to show the original shifter support bracket and the clip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Precision shifts without the NVH I performed my installation during my cat back install. Doing it while the exhaust was off the car made this job incredibly easy. The shifts in the 2015 Mustang are much shorter than in previous gens but changing out the shift bracket makes them feel less spongy as well; compliments the stock throw perfectly. Best part, there is no NVH (noise, vibration, harshness). This was my main concern and am very pleased with this Blowfish product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent results Ok so Bill makes everything look pretty darn easy on his well done videos, I don't have a lift just some ramps, it was not easy but totally doable for a generally handy amateur mechaphile. I also removed the clutch return spring with this install, my car now feels MUCH more connected to me and definitely has that race car type feel on the clutch and the quick snick snick shifts. Great product and of quality construction. Thanks a bunch Bill, you are obviously talented and the vids are outstanding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gobsmacked! I didn't know what "nibble" meant but after a month of driving my '15 GT I know there were some strange things doing on in my manual transmission. Could literally feel the synchros engaging as if there was a gear tooth or two grinding on 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. But overall - the shifter on the MT-82 was pretty good. Installed the Blowfish bracket yesterday. Holy cow! Shifting is idiot proof. Tight and precise. It is a whole other thing - not at all subtle. Love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blowfish Bracket I have had it installed for a couple of weeks now and is a big difference. I also installed the Steeda transmission bushing insert with it and removed it after 3 hours of using. The 2 together do not work well unless you can handle a lot of vibration and noise. I even modified the bushing before installing it to try and help with noise and vibration, lets say i can only imagine how bad it would have been. Makes everything way to stiff and rigid. I would say just install the Blowfish bracket. It works really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Firm This bolt on adds an amazing feeling of confidence while shifting. There is no more wiggle room while in any gear anymore. You can feel more vibration when in gear, but it does not move like it used to. Looking at the factory bracket before I tossed it in the trash, I can see why a Blowfish is required. Super easy install even with jack and jackstands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would never go back to stock. After the Blowfish Racing Manual Shifter Support Bracket, shifts are now much more direct and confidence inspiring - no more apprehension about missing a gear and grinding during turning or WOT. My initial impression was that although the shifts felt much better I didn't feel that it was quite worth the price. After a couple of days of driving, I realized that the bracket actually changed the entire driving experience. Because the car goes directly into gear, the transitions are much smoother and more enjoyable seeming to eliminate herkey jerkey gear changes that seemed to occur more than it should. The process of changing gears seems much more forgiving now. My impression now is that the bracket is well worth the money because it makes the car much more enjoyable to drive - driving the car is flat out smoother. There is noticeable increase in vibration that can be felt from the shifter when your hand is on it, particularly under hard acceleration but I got used to that after a day or two; now, I actually enjoy it because it makes you feel more connected to the car and it feels like you can feel the car's power coming up through your hand in a good way. The bracket does not eliminate the 1st and 2nd gear thud that you get at a stop or low speeds but it seems that it may have lessened the severity or frequency because I don't notice it as much. Overall, a great purchase and I couldn't imagine going back to not having it.

Is this good enough that one would choose this over the Barton replacement shifter? Or is the Barton that much better that it is worth the extra money?

Asked by: SNeal5966
Once the shifter flexing is corrected with the Shifter Support Kit, whether to add an aftermarket shifter becomes a personal preference decision.

I have the whiteline trans insert and I just installed your blowfish system but I noticed a weird vibration and rattle noise at times from shifter area. Am I suppose to eliminate that whitleine insert now or am I better to leave them together?

Asked by: Cobe5050
The vibration is probably due to the bushing being stiff.

I own a 2013 mustang gt. with 6 speed trans. if I purchase the Blowfish bracket, do you carry a stick shift with the long throws equal to the stock shifter, I prefer the longer throws, I owned a muscle car with Hurst shifter way back when.

Asked by: Boydie 55
We do not offer a shifter with throws equal to the stock shifter.
