Founded in 2003 by a small group of engineers, Custom Performance Engineering, better known as cp-e, began work in a garage with only a few workers and a single BostoMatic punch-tape driven CNC machine. Using this antique piece of machinery to manufacture their first part, a 1987-1993 Mustang gauge bezel, cp-e was on their way to becoming one of the finest performance parts manufacturers today.

With the creation of a few more parts, the company slowly began to pick up attention in the turbo-engine automotive community and signed with their first national distributor in late 2003. One of their most impressive pieces of equipment to come along early. The xFlex motor mount boasted indestructibility in addition to noise and vibration cancellation in the cabin. These little engine mounts soon had cp-e on the tip of everyone in the performance world's tongue, and soon had the company expanding their reach into the Ford EcoBoost line.

In 2012, cp-e began developing their first xFlex motor mounts for the 2013 Ford Focus ST, and have continued to improve the Focus ST's performance with a number of other enhancement parts. First and foremost, cp-e crafts some of the finest turbo downpipes in the industry, available in both street legal and off-road varieties, allowing CJ Pony Parts' customers to take their Focus ST's to higher levels of performance with decreased back pressure, and reduced turbo spool time. To keep those engines cool, cp-e has also developed a line of cold air intake kits, as well as front-mounted intercoolers to help keep temperatures low under the hood. Based in Beltsville, Maryland, just outside of Washington D.C., this small titan of industry has grown since their debut in 2003.
