Outfitted as a direct-fit replacement with carpeting heat-molded in two separate pieces, this Black Dash Pad & Carpet Kit quickly restores the glory of 1969-1970 Convertible Mustangs! This kit for factory air-conditioned models combines a black dash pad engineered using Ford Tooling specs with an original-style carpet from ACC. While the dash pad is constructed from a burly ABS vinyl, the carpet is fashioned from a 100% nylon material. In it lies DuPont 1850 filament yarn, tufted on a 5/32 loop machine for the best accuracy.

Between the carpet and 36 ounces of jute padding on its underside lies a rubber mass backing. Sitting at 40 millimeters thick, it acts as a sturdy layer between the two that enhances moldability and sound-deadening capabilities. It even takes insulation to the next level with the support of the jute padding’s heaviness. Drivers can handpick one of ten tones for the carpet along with the driver-side heel and toe pad, each colored using only the finest dye quality.

Tech Tip: When you first take your new carpet out of the box, you may notice quite a few wrinkles. This is normal. We recommend laying the carpet out in the sun for a few hours to help soften the jute backing and reduce the amount of visible wrinkles before installation.
