This Edelbrock Accu-Drive Camshaft Gear Drive replaces the standard timing chain with a compound gear drive train system that optimizes performance using multiple cam timing adjustments. The power generated by the crankshaft gear is transferred to a floating main idler, which then drives the camshaft gear with smooth and precise rotations for accurate valve timing. The main idler gear floats between the crank and camshaft gears to ensure equal load sharing, and the billet SAE-1144 steel gears with induction-hardened teeth are shaved for even more precision. Included with this Accu-Drive Camshaft Gear Drive (7891) are a thrust bearing and keyway notch. It mounts using three (x3) 0.399" mounting holes.
