Edelbrock Water Pump Cartridge Small Block Chevy

Prep your Small Block Chevy engine for its next circle track or endurance race via this water pump cartridge (8828). Edelbrock specially crafted this cartridge for use with their pumps sold under part numbers 8827 and 8895. A race-style design primes it for the roads, equally distributing coolant to both sides of the block within a 1% margin. It simultaneously eliminates hot spots in the engine for optimized cylinder power without detonation and pre-ignition.

For extra strength, the rear cover is .10” thicker than the OEM iteration while the hub uses billet steel for its construction. Built with a revised impeller entry as well, the design is complete with heavy-duty ball and roller bearings.

Tech Tip: A -2AN bleeder screw is installed at the top of the pump. Loosen the screw after filling the cooling system to remove any air.
