These hook catches are going to be a direct fit for your 2007 to 2018 Jeep Wrangler. They're the same basic design as the factory catches, but instead of plastic, they're made of beautiful polished three or four stainless steel for a premium look and durability.
They come with all the hardware you'll need for an easy installation so today we're gonna put them on our 2008 Jeep Wrangler.
These hook catches are pretty simple to install. The first thing we're gonna do is open up the hood. The first thing we're gonna do is gonna be pretty hard to see. We're gonna be removing a nut on the stud that secures the lower part of this catch. It's on the inside of this fender. I have two wobble extensions and a 13 socket that I'm going to use to get to it. It's pretty hard to see.
Grab a 10-millimeter socket and remove the two nuts that secure the upper portion of the catch. Then remove the catch. Grab your new catch and install the pins and the bolt with the factory holes. Then you can install the nut on the backside. Be careful not to drop it. Then use your 13-millimeter socket to tighten it up. Once you get the lower portion installed, you can install this rubber piece and then move up to the upper portion.
Once you get the lower portion installed you can install the upper portion of your new catch. Make sure you have the rubber gasket between the catch and the hood, then install your nut and washers. Tighten them down with a 10-millimeter socket. Once you get both nuts tight, you can do the same process on the other side then your installation's finished.
All right, we've got our stainless steel hood catches installed. They're looking so much better than the factory ones. I don't know why these weren't an option from the factory. They definitely give it a more premium look and they're a lot more durable. They're not gonna break. Installation is pretty straightforward but it can be a bit difficult getting to this nut down here. It should only take you about 30 minutes to an hour to install. And before you know it, you'll be heading off-road.
