Though this leaves it vulnerable to harmful sun rays, the protruding tube is engineered from a UV-resistant, cross-linked polyethylene material to negate the effects. This construction also serves to fend off large debris, with the snorkel’s 6” inlet covered by a steel mesh to protect it from debris as well.
