Mustang 351C Camshafts

Upgrade Your 351C Engine with a Performance Camshaft
351C Camshafts
The 351C (or 351 Cleveland) engine was offered in the Mustang from 1970-1974. Upgrading your 351C's camshaft and valvetrain can give you more horsepower at high RPM.
COMP Cams offers a variety of options for the 351C to suit different driving styles. Choose a cam that fits the RPM band where you want the most power to customize your engine. Hydraulic flat tappet cams offer great results up to a certain level of horsepower. Roller cams are often favored for their higher performance but tend to be more expensive. They may also be prohibited in stock classes of racing.
You can buy the camshaft by itself or get lifters included as well. You can also opt for a kit. Some kits are small and only include the timing chain set and assembly lube in addition to the camshaft. Others are all-in-one sets with everything mentioned above, plus valve springs, retainers, locks, and stem seals.
Don’t forget to work back-to-front when you’re doing a full performance overhaul. Before camming your engine, consider starting with some exhaust upgrades.
