2022 Ford Bronco Everglades Specs & Features

Last Updated August 8, 2023 | Meghan Drummond

The 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades is a new special edition being added to the Bronco’s already impressive roster. The Everglades edition is more off-road capable than the Sasquatch package, thanks to some added accessories. This edition should be a perfect middle ground for people who need more off-road capability but aren’t interested in the formidable (and costly) Bronco Raptor.

The Everglades’ Off-Road Features

Here’s a quick run-down of the features on the Bronco Everglades:

  • 10,000 lb warn winch
  • Raised vents on the front and rear axles, transfer case, and transmission
  • Unique squared-off fender flares
  • Rock rails
  • Roof rack with cross bars
  • Bull bar
  • Steel bash plates (same as on the Black Diamond and Badlands trims)
  • Built-in snorkel

Bronco Everglades vs Bronco Raptor

Both the Raptor and Everglades are the two most off-road capable Broncos. The primary difference is that they’re built for different terrains.

The Everglades is built for overcoming water obstacles. If you’re really into river fording or plan to do most of your off-roading in wet terrain, the Everglades is the right Bronco for you. That might be obvious from the name, but the snorkel is also a dead giveaway.

The raised vents and snorkel give the Bronco Everglades a fording depth of up to 36.4”. The regular Bronco’s is just over 31.5”, and the Sasquatch package ups that to 33.5”. So, this represents a significant increase.

The Raptor has a bigger engine, bigger tires, and subsequently, better ground clearance. This is going to make the Raptor the go-to for off-road racing like the Baja 500 or King of Hammers. It also makes the Raptor a great choice for rock crawling.

If you’re primarily interested in overlanding, then either of these Broncos is going to be more than capable. (Seriously, more than capable. You’d probably be fine with a Badlands or Wildtrak. But overkill is fun, too).

Either of these Broncos is going to be an off-roading beast, but there’s no denying that the Everglades is better equipped for water fording.

Could You Build Your Own Bronco Everglades?

Honestly, the Ford accessories are sleek. The snorkel is built in, giving it a really subtle appearance.

But if you don’t care about subtlety, you can definitely add some of the Everglades features onto your own Bronco. If you’ve gotten the Sasquatch package already, then equipping your Bronco with a winch and snorkel will help elevate it to Everglades-esque capabilities. And let’s be real, there’s something about the superglued-on look of most off-roaders that gives them a rugged appearance.

Likewise, if you’re sold on the Raptor but want a winch and snorkel, they’re not hard to add. Unfortunately, the opposite isn’t true. While some of the Raptor’s mods can be added to any Bronco, things like the Fox Live Valve shocks are hard (and expensive) to add as an aftermarket install.

Which Is Right for You?

There’s really a Bronco for every off-roader. The Everglades fits into a perfect niche that should make it pretty obvious if it’s the right package for you.

Get the Bronco Everglades If…

If you’re really interested in water fording (rivers, beaches, floods) then the Everglades is the perfect package for you. Personally? We prefer it in Eruption Green, but it’s a great-looking Bronco in any shade.

The combination of all the Sasquatch package goodies combined with a winch and a snorkel makes this a worthwhile package. And a pretty good value if you were planning on adding those accessories anyway.

Get the Bronco Raptor If…

If you’re into off-road racing or just want the most capable Bronco on the road, there’s no alternative to the Bronco Raptor. Even though the Everglades package offers some eye-catching bonus items, none of them can compare. The beefier rear axle, Live Valve shocks, and other off-roading tech are difficult to replicate and will definitely improve your prowess.

Every Bronco is off-road capable, but these two trims showcase all of the possibilities. These builds are exciting, even for those with base Broncos, because they show how much just a few mods can add to their capability.
