In celebration of the Mustang’s 60th birthday Ford has revealed a limited production run on a new 60th anniversary special edition Mustang. To represent the 1965 model, Ford will only be producing 1,965 of these Mustangs, making it sought after by Mustang collectors.

While the 60th Anniversary Mustang is only an appearance package, the attention to detail is striking with unique anniversary badges, stripes, and 5-spoke wheels evoking the classic 1965 design. The package is exclusive to GT Premium convertibles and coupes and comes in your choice of red, white, or blue exterior paint to celebrate the American icon.

The package boasts exclusive 5.0 and GT badges on the fender and trunk respectively. It also offers Mustang anniversary-themed striping down the length of the car that reads “60 years”. Other additions include smoked Nite Pony headlights and a unique mesh grille design with silver accents meant to reflect the style of the 1965 Mustang.

The 60th Anniversary Mustang is equipped with Dark Gravity Gray 20-inch 5-spoke wheels that complement the exterior color scheme. The wheels also feature a red stamped aluminum center cap reflecting the style found on the 1965 classic.

Inside, the car features retro-inspired trim options that nod to the Mustang's past. The interior will be available in red, blue, or gray hues. The dashboard and panels incorporate a special serialized 60th anniversary badge indicating the model's limited edition status.

The 60th anniversary package is purely focused on cosmetic upgrades, so you won’t see any performance gains over the 2024 GT Premium. You’ll still get the same 480 horsepower 5.0L V8 Gen 4 Coyote that comes standard with all 2024 Mustang GTs though.

When Will the 60th Anniversary Special Edition Mustang Release?

You will be able to order the 60th Anniversary Special Edition Package in late Summer 2024. Production will begin later in the year, with the package being released at a date in 2025 yet to be determined. There is no news from Ford on pricing either, although the very limited nature of the package might make it more expensive than traditional cosmetic upgrades.
