2024 Saleen 302 Mustang Specs
Last Updated May 20, 2024 | Nate MoonisSaleen began creating special, limited runs of high-performance Mustangs back in 1984 and haven't stopped since. Saleen Mustangs are know for having various performance and visual upgrades that make them sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
With the release of the release of the S650 Mustang for the 2024 model year, many fans were anxiously waiting for Saleen to reveal their newest special edition Mustang. That patience was rewarded when Saleen revealed the Saleen 302 "White Label" in November of 2023. This limited edition Mustang annoucement was accompanied by promises of a "Yellow Label" and "Black Label" special edition as well. Now that all three of these Saleen 302 packages have been revealed, let's take a look at how they compare to each other, their price points, and why you should buy one over a regular 2024 Mustang GT.
2024 Saleen 302 White Label Mustang
The White Label is the entry-level trim option for the new 2024 Saleen 302 Mustang and its specs and price reflect that. It's the cheapest of the three Saleen 302 special editions and retails for $61,990. This price puts it in line with the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse Premium which has an MSRP of $62,180. The White Label makes 510 horsepower and 425 lb-ft. of torque. These are impressive performance numbers for a naturally-aspirated Mustang and handedly beat the Dark Horse.
The 2024 Mustang White Label also comes equipped with a variety of exterior upgrades to help improve airflow and generate downforce for improved cornering. It features a completely redesigned front end that's highlighted by an aerodynamic front splitter and air dam. The hood has also been redesigned to include a revised hood vent to allow for heat to escape the engine bay more effectively.
Moving to the rear, the Saleen 302 White Label gets an aggressive rear wing that's vastly different from any offered on a 2024 Mustang currently. The White Label also gets a variety of performance upgrades that aren't as easily seen as its custom wheel and tire setup. These include Saleen's Gen 5 Racecraft suspension, a performance sway bar, bigger brakes, and more.
The interior of the 2024 Saleen White Label has also been updated. Owners can take a seat in their Saleen-branded seats and adjust the settings on the 2024 Mustang's new digital dash with Saleen-branded instrument binnacle frames surrounding it. Saleen has also included colored accents and stitching all over the cabin. Plus, passengers will find a functional grab handle to brace themselves against during a spirited drive.
Here's a quick comparison of the 2024 Saleen 302 White Label and 2024 Dark Horse Mustang:
Specs | 2024 Saleen 302 White Label | 2024 Mustang Dark Horse |
---|---|---|
Base Price | $61,990 | $62,180 |
Horsepower | 510 hp | 500 hp |
Torque | 425 lb-ft | 410 lb-ft |
2024 Saleen 302 Yellow Label Mustang
At a glance, it's hard to tell the White Label and Yellow Label apart. Until you open the hood, the interior and exterior of the White and Yellow Labels is largely the same. However, the differences become clear when you look at the underlying performance of these two cars.
Compared to the White Label, the Saleen 302 Yellow Label Mustang's power is in another league. The Yellow Label makes over 230 more horsepower than the entry-level White Label through the use of a Saleen supercharger. In total, the Yellow Label makes 745 horsepower and puts all of that power to the ground through Gen 5 Racecraft suspension and Saleen wheels wrapped in sticky tires.
All of this impressive performance will run you $79,900 to start. If you can get your hands on this special edition, The Yellow Label is second-to-none for the price. Well, almost.
2024 Saleen 302 Black Label Mustang
First revealed by the Mustang Club of America for the 60th Anniversary of the Mustang, the Saleen 302 Black Label is an incredible upgrade with around 300 more horsepower than its entry-level counterpart. The Black Label makes 800 horsepower and comes equipped with the same 5.0L supercharged V8 seen in the Yellow Label, but it's been tuned to make 55 more horsepower.
However, don't assume the Black Label is only fast in a straight line. It comes standard with a ton of different suspension upgrades. These include the Gen 5 Racecraft front and rear springs found on the White and Yellow Label, struts and rear shocks, and front and rear sway bars. You can also opt for a variety of other Racecraft suspension components like K-members, caster camber plates, rear tow links, and more.
The exterior differs quite a bit compared to the previous two models. Up front, you get an updated front fascia with a high-volume radiator intake and integrated LED sidemarkers. The integrated front lip found on the other two models is replaced with a high downforce, carbon fiber air splitter for maximum cornering performance. The rest of the exterior changes are composed of various vents to improve aerodynamics and carbon fiber to save weight.
One of the biggest differences between the Black Label and the other models is the 14 additional paint colors you can choose from. Saleen's ColorLab paint colors are distinct and only available on the Black Label. The selection includes a variety of unique and bright colors that set the Black Label apart from any other Mustang.
The interior is very similar to the other models, but with a few exceptions. The Black Label features custom Alcantara seating with color-matched stitching and a twin gauge pod for boost and air temperature readings. Plus, every Black Label's dash is personally signed by Steve Saleen himself.
There's also a variety of different upgrades and packages that owners can add to the Black Label to improve performance. You can splurge for a multi-chambered titanium exhaust that produces an F1-inspired sound, or upgrade to a sequential transmission to improve lap and quarter-mile times.
While there hasn't been any news on production numbers just yet, the Saleen 302 Black Label will start at $108,990.
Own a Piece of Automotive History
While the price can put some enthusiasts off, it's hard to deny that the new Saleen 302 lineup doesn't give you impressive bang for your buck. Saleen has been making sought-after, performance-edition Mustangs since the 80's and they've been getting better and more affordable every year. If you find yourself looking to purchase one of these formidable Mustangs, don't hesitate.
