Dante's 1966 Mustang Story
My 1966 Mustang was originally a three-speed automatic with an inline-six engine. Although it looked fine on the outside, a lot of problems lurked beneath the surface. This project has been ongoing for six years now, and it’s still not done.
The engine has been swapped for a V8, which took a lot of time and resources. Everything from the rear axle to the radiator is brand new. All I know about modifying cars I learned with this Mustang. That includes welding in convertible inner rockers and torque boxes, a chassis reinforcement trick left over from Group 2 racers who modified these classics in their day.
This Mustang has lived in four different garages, and has waited patiently for me to work on it between school and other hobbies. I look forward to finishing this project and enjoying this car for what it is. I might take part in some local amateur racing events with it as well.
