While the Ford Focus was designed to be a car for everyone, it was especially targeted towards young drivers. Subsequently, many of the paint colors were named things like “CD Silver” and “Infra-Red” which seem dated now, but at the time spoke to the millennial vibe that Ford wanted to capture. These colors often have other names since they were renamed overtime or used different names for other nameplates.

By the time the Focus stopped being produced and sold in the United States in 2018, the names had progressed to be more in line with the rest of Ford’s lineup.

Even so, if you’re looking to patch up your paint, it’s a good plan to order a small amount and test the match in a small easy to hide area.

To repair paint damage, first wash and dry your car. Then, sand the area around the scratch and then apply a polishing compound to further abrade the area. Finally, use a small brush to apply the paint. In order to avoid tell-tale brush strokes, the best way to apply touch up paint is to barely touch the brush to the damage and allow the paint to be pulled into the damage.

Sand in between coats and apply each coat thinly.

Once you’ve finished, apply a clear coat to the area, and then wax.
