CJ Pony Parts Unveils Modified Focus ST at SEMA 2015

If you’re not familiar with The SEMA Show, it is a yearly event that takes place at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada where the automotive industry’s best and brightest get together with the hottest parts all in one place. In addition to the show itself, the SEMA show also provides special events, educational seminars, networking opportunities and much more.
At SEMA 2014, there were more than 60,000 domestic and international buyers along with a new products showcase that introduced nearly 2,000 brand new parts. Not open to the general public and labeled a trade-only event, the SEMA show is the best place to debut your latest project build.
In 2013, CJ’s attended the SEMA show to meet with some of our vendors such as Magnaflow, Scott Drake, TMI Products, Edelbrock and many more.
Last year, CJ Pony Parts was proud to debut Project 50/30, our 1965 Mustang Fastback project car which made a transformation from the Forgotten Fastback to what we know today as 50/30. Powered by a modern and powerful Vortech Supercharged “Coyote” 5.0L V8 Engine with a Ridetech Air Suspension Kit, complete TMI Products Interior and custom three-piece Niche wheels, this CJ build was a head-turner at SEMA 2014.
The ST Build
For 2015, CJ’s is switching it up with a 2015 Focus ST! After submitting our design proposal to Ford, we were awarded a 2015 Focus ST with the task of building and showcasing it in the Ford booth at SEMA 2015. You may have seen the renderings through Car & Driver, Auto Blog, and other media outlets, but this ST was ripped apart and rebuilt from the ground up. With Bill and the talented team at CJ’s, we knew we could take this ST from lean to mean.
After getting with the graphics team to develop a rendering for the ST, it was time to find the parts. Thanks to Rick in our Purchasing Department, we were able to track down a long list of parts from our partnering vendors to take this ST build and create a street capable and track ready hot hatch.
Our ultimate goal with this car was to take the Focus ST from Ford, an already excellent car out-of-the-box, and make every measurable aspect better. The stock Focus ST looks great, handles well and put decent power to the ground. Focusing on each of those aspects, we were able to include parts like Air Lift Suspension for a fully customizable suspension feel and head-turning looks at the car show along with an ATP Turbo upgrade to properly put the power to the ground. We wanted to create an ST that anyone could daily drive, bring to a car show and take to the track – an all-in-one ST.
