Thankfully, CJ Pony Parts makes it easy to get around this problem with this STO N SHO Quick-Release Front License Plate Bracket!

This STO N SHO Quick-Release Front License Plate Bracket is a two-piece system that lets you easily retain your RS' factory appearance without breaking any laws! It allows you to easily detach and reattach your front license plate according to your needs: take the plate off when you get to the car show and put it back on when you're ready to head home. It's that simple! After you install this bracket, all you have to do to remove it is pull a pin. After you've removed the pin, you won't be able to see the base plate since it's mounted under the front bumper, which ensures it won't mar your RS' otherwise pristine factory appearance.

Made from 5052 and 6061 aluminum with a black paint finish, the plates are precision laser-cut and hand-burnished and the tubes and rods are machine-cut and hand-cleaned. All of this ensures a durable and high-quality design that'll last you many years to come! You'll get everything you need to install this STO N SHO Quick-Release Front License Plate Bracket, including all of the required mounting hardware and installation instructions.

Please Note: Requires two holes to be drilled on the underside of the vehicle. These holes are not visible and do not detract from the look of the vehicle.

The front bumper cover on the new Focus RS is without a doubt one of the most aggressive and functional front ends Ford has ever used on a production car. If you're lucky enough to own an RS, but unlucky enough to live in a state that requires a front plate, Ford solution, stick it right there in the middle which will look absolutely terrible on the front of this car. As usual, Sto n Sho has a perfect solution, and today we're going to install it on our 2016 Focus RS.

By now you're probably familiar with the Sto n Sho concept, but if not it's a very easy idea. What they do is build a bracket that goes underneath the front bumper and make the front license plate bracket removable. Basically, when it's on the car, simply pull that and you take it off. If you go to a car show, track day, or whatever, take the plate off, throw it in the trunk, and simply line it up, slide it back in and make the car legal for the ride home. For this installation, you'll need a lift or a jack and jack stands, Phillips head screwdriver, 3/8 ratchet, 10mm socket, drill, and 1/8" drill bit.

The Sto n Sho's going to mount right underneath here. Now, it is going to require you to drill 2 holes. Fortunately, you do have factory screws here, but they're plastic screws won't support the weight, so mount it in the center and remove this screw here. Now, with the ring facing the driver's side, what you'll do is basically line up so it's center with that hole. Make sure we're still good here. Push it against the plastic, and drill your pilot hole.

Now you're going to grab the provided hardware, line them up, and thread them in. We get both started before we tighten anything down. What you want to do here is turn these until the plate is flush and stop. Once it's flush, 1/2 turn on both of them, and that's tight enough. You go any tighter, you might actually strip it out. I use the provided hardware. Secure your plate to the frame. Line it up, and then slide it on until it locks in place, and your installation's finished.

If you live in state that require a front plate, the Sto n Sho is the way to go. This is definitely a lot better look than having it here. The best part, you're at the track, you're at a show, you can simply take it off and throw it in your trunk. Installation is very easy. It will only take you about 10 to 15 minutes. You'll be back on the road in no time.
