Product Description
Pair of TMI Original Style Door Panels for 1990-1991 Mustangs.
Help give your Fox Mustang's interior new life with these original style door panels from TMI. Constructed with a full ABS backing board that will not warp, as opposed to the originals which were cardboard backed in the lower sections. Cardboard often warps over time and when it gets wet, leaving your interior looking dated and worn out.
TMI's door panels are made from heavy 30-32 oz vinyl, just like the originals, and feature original style heat seam line patterns that are an exact replication of the original Ford seams. Also features original style map pockets to perfectly match your originals.
Offered with your choice of original style vinyl, tweed or velour inserts. The inserts are located in the area above the armrests. Convertible door panels are only offered with vinyl inserts.
Door panels are completely assembled and ready to install, just transfer over your existing armrest assembly and your power or manual window mechanisms.
Includes:
-Inner window beltline (felt)
-Stainless steel door lock grommets
-Color matched speaker covers
*Does not include armrest assembly which is shown.
*Velour and tweed inserts were only an original option in 1990.
*Titanium gray were only an original color option in 1991.
*The top rail of the door panel on coupes and hatchbacks is black for all colors; The top rail on convertibles is the same color as the door panel.

Bill: Today we have our good buddy, Waylon, here from TMI to help us fresh the interior Mustang LX. The one area of my interior that really needs help is the door panels. Obviously, I have the typical Box Body Map Pockets.
Waylon: You stuffed one too many Mötley Crüe tapes in there I think.
Bill: Thankfully, TMI offers complete replacement door panels and today we're going to install them. For this installation, you'll need a 1/4" ratchet, 10 mm socket, Phillips head screwdriver, door panel removal tool, and a small flat head screwdriver.
Waylon: To get the door panel off, you got a couple screws, a couple 10 mm nuts, but all in all it's a pretty simple procedure. I'm going to start up here. All right there's a couple of hidden screws here. One here at the top of the arm rest, and another you're going to be able to get to down here at the corner. Lastly, there's one down here at the end of the speaker grill cover. To get the arm rest off, there's two bolts behind here. You're going to want to remove these little covers. 28 years of Fox Body, we're already missing this one, did us a favor. Once you get the armrest down, you're just going to want to unplug your power windows clip here. Once you get the hardware removed, there are a bunch of plastic clips that run around the outer edge of this door panel. I suggest using one of these to get them off or else you're going to end up snapping them. They are old, plastic, and fragile.
We took the opportunity when we had the door panel off to put a small amount of Dynamat on the door to help with some noise reduction. We also took the clips off the old factory door panel and swapped them over to the new one. I do want to point out, originally Bill had the tweed insert on this door panel. We opted for a cleaner look with the vinyl insert but we do in fact offer the tweed as well. This is a little bit easier to do with the window down. Put your old arm rest back on and make sure you reconnect all your wiring. Put your screws back in on the top and on your speaker grill. Now we can put our door handle bezel back on. Obviously, ours has seen better days. We're going to be replacing that down the road but for today we'll reinstall this one. Go ahead and install your side mirror cover. Then we're finished.
Bill: Now the new door panels obviously made a huge difference, especially the door pocket area. Now these are available in all the factor colors?
Waylon: Correct, whether you got titanium, smoke, opal, canyon red, we've got you covered.
Bill: And these are obviously a direct replacement for the factory ones. They'll use original components. Once we replace a few of those, it'll look even better. The installation, figure maybe an hour per side, be back on the road in no time.
