Product Questions

My Fuel tank sending unit goes in on the side of the tank on the drivers side. It is a factory tank on a 73 Ford Mustang. The tank from other vendors is not a kit. Can you verify the mounting location for the sending unit. D1ZZ9002A is the part number.

Asked by: Capt1
just figured it out! with no help from cj or npd or anybody else! the left side bottom outlet is for the sending unit and the top hole is for the vapor recovery system. Since nobody sells this top vent piece... take your old sending unit and cut the pick-up tube 1 inch from bottom of plate and reinstall in top hole and attach vent line that goes to canister under hood.

My 71 stock tank has the sending unit on the bottom drivers side of the tank, the one pictured looks like it mounts on top.  Is this correct or am I missing something?

Asked by: tbecks
This one is OEM style. Perhaps the one you're removing was an odd aftermarket replacement?

Fuel tank FT5 says that it "has a new drain plug included". Does the tank that comes with fuel tank kit FTK4 also have a drain plug?

Asked by: damiko99
There is no drain plug or provision for a drain plug on 1971-1973 fuel tanks. Our description is being updated to negate the confusion.
