Roush Axle-Back Exhaust Stainless Steel V6/EcoBoost 2015-2017 is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good stuff Installed those to my ecoboost. Well, now it's sounds better then a Chevy Comaro V8 6.2L. Don't trust the sound on the video, in real life is do much better, like a Mustang GT. I defenetly recommend this exhaust. And the price for this is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Sound is much better for the v6. Better mpg and a noticeable performance increase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just about right Fitted in way under an hour and could not be any simpler, they have got the sound about perfect. Any quieter they would be pointless, any louder I would not be comfortable with them. Would have had 5 stars except the clamp kit that came with the exhaust was for the V8 and so I had to cut some more exhaust and split it for temporary packing until I could get clamps the correct size, the tailpipe clamps were OK. I purchased this delivered to Spain and paid 168 euros in extra taxes and costs and that is on top of delivery so they do not come out cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Product! These pipes are exeptional in terms of fit and performance. CJ delivered them on time, for free, and in good condition. A local muffler shop installed them in less than a half hour and they sound great and provided a noticeable increase in power

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does Exactly What They Say It Does! Everything from the install to the results are exactly what CJ's says it is. The video is 100% accurate from putting it all together, to the tone you hear when done. I have no way to measure the exact HP pickup from this mod, but between that and the Roush cold air intake my Ecoboost is far more responsive and peppy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! The video really doesn't do these justice. They make my ecoboost sound amazing compared to the stock pipes. I've noticed a little increase in power too. Had Midas install...charged $99. Well worth the purchase from CJ's and they delivered for free!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Sound for Ecoboost. I purchased Roush previously on my '12 GT and was extremely happy. This system produces a much more aggressive sound than factory and feel it was worth the money. Don't ever think this is going to make your Ecoboost sound like a GT though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy The Roush axel back exhaust sounds far better then the sound clips on line. This is the sound that Ford should have given the Eco Boost Mustang to begin with! The installation was so easy it took only 40 minutes and looks good . There is a noticeable increase in bottom end torque plus you will notice how heavy the stock mufflers are compared to the Roush exhaust. I thought when I bought them that the price was a little high but now that they are installed they are worth ever penny !

Product Questions

I got 2016 v6 question is do I have to change the whole piping system or what? Do I have to buy xpipe to ? I'm comfused

Asked by: Bobbystang007
No, these will just replace your original mufflers and a very small section of piping before them. You will have to make a cut on the OE exhaust, but nothing else is needed to be changed or purchased.

Roush Axle-Back Exhaust Stainless Steel V6/EcoBoost 2015-2017 Video Transcript
By Bill Tumas: The exhaust sound of the EcoBoost Mustang is definitely a hot topic among Mustang enthusiasts. We all know Ford piped in some sound through the stereo speakers to try to give the EcoBoost a little bit of a deeper tone the Mustang enthusiasts are more familiar with. While some people are okay with the sound of a 4 cylinder Mustang, others feel you have to have that V-8 growl for it to truly sound like a Mustang.

Well, the 4 cylinder is here to stay. It's always going to sound like a 4 cylinder because it's simply 4 cylinders shy of giving you that V-8 growl. That doesn't mean that we can't sound better.

We've had great results with Roush exhaust systems on previous models. Today we're going to install their axle back system on our EcoBoost project car. The Roush system is made of T 304 stainless steel including the polished 304 stainless steel rolled double wall tips. The system will require cutting for installation. Besides that is a direct bolt on, on your Eco-Boost or will also fit your V-6 Mustang. All Roush mufflers use a straight through design to give you a nice aggressive tone, also keeping drone at a minimum.

We'll start off with some factory exhaust clips. Our EcoBoost currently is 100% factory exhaust including the down pipe. Factory exhaust definitely on the quiet side. Also has that 4 cylinder sound.

Let's get started with our Roush. For this installation we need a lift or a jack and jack stands, marker, sawzall, file, 3/8 ratchet, 15 millimeter socket and safety glasses.

Like all axle back systems with the 2015 Mustang, you are going to have to cut to do the installation. In the case of the Roush the instructions make it pretty clear. What they tell you to do is to cut at the end of the tangent of the curve. I know we all paid attention in geometry class. If you need a refresher the tangent is where the curve ends and flattens out. What you do is go to the curve here. The pipe almost has a mark where you want to cut. Follow to the end of the curve where it's flat. Make a little mark and that's where we're going to cut.

Since the muffler tip will go up once you cut it, we would suggest putting some rags or something in there to protect the balance especially in our case we wouldn't want to damage our carbon fiber. That will stop it from going too high and damaging anything.

On the car we found a sawzall is the best thing to use to cut through here. If you want to you can put something behind to protect the suspension. As long as you're careful you shouldn't have any problems.

Now we'll just slide it up out of the hanger by moving it forward and put it aside. Want to make sure once you cut it the steel back through, just deburr it real quick. Make sure there's no sharp edges.

Now put the clamp on. Slide that over. Start by putting the new muffler up into the hanger. What we'll do is kind of turn it in place here. Slide it over our cut and move the clamp over. Now we'll tighten up the clamp. Don't use an air impact on this because you can damage the clamp. Either a low torque electric or do it by hand.

Now the same thing with our tip, put one of our clamps in place. Tip in. Get it lined up roughly where we want it and we can tighten down.

Repeat the process on the other side and installation's finished.

Now let's try it out with our Roush exhaust. It's not real loud inside the cabin. You can definitely tell it has an aftermarket sound to it. It does have that Roush signature sound with just a little bit of a different tone because of the 4 cylinder.

The Roush axle back added a nice aggressive sound to our EcoBoost Mustang. The sound is definitely signature Roush. The muffler has a very similar sound to other ones we've installed with the tone being a little bit different because obviously like I said it is a 4 cylinder Mustang. Like all Roush performance products the fit and finish is excellent. The installation is pretty straight forward. It will probably take you around an hour and you'll be back on the road in no time.
