ACC Carpets’ Original-Style Molded Carpet is a direct fit replacement for your 1964-1/2 Mustang’s worn, stained, faded, dirty, or torn carpet! This carpet is available for coupe and convertible models and is made using the same 80/20 loop material mix as your original carpet: 80% rayon and 20% nylon. The loop material is tufted to a 5/32-gauge loop and contains 24 oz. of yarn per square yard.

This carpet comes in a wide array of factory-correct colors, ensuring total accuracy and authenticity for your classic restoration. Tested by the manufacturer for ozone humidity fading and light fastness, this carpet also features a heavy 36-oz. jute padding for insulation and has a color-matching driver-side heel pad, just like the original!

In addition to the color options, you can choose between mass back or standard carpet. Mass back is a tough, rubber layer between the carpet and the jute insulation that increases the form and rigidity of the carpet while decreasing road noise. At 40mils thick, it virtually eliminates the need for Dynamat or any other type of additional sound deadener. Mass back carpet will fit just like the original carpet but increases sound deadening and insulation. Mass back carpet retains shape much better than a standard poly-backed carpet making for a much easier installation.

Please Note: ACC's carpets do not come with pre-cut holes, allowing you to make the necessary cuts only where needed for your various interior components.

Tech Tip: When you first take your new carpet out of the box, you may notice quite a few wrinkles. This is normal. We recommend laying the carpet out in the sun for a few hours to help soften the jute backing and to help reduce the number of wrinkles that are visible prior to installation.

*What makes this carpet different from 1965 Mustang carpet is where the carpet meets the door sill plates. On 1965 Mustangs, the carpet runs all the way up on the rockers. On 1964-1/2 Mustangs, it does not. 1965 Mustangs also had an additional toe pad extending off the heel pad. 1964-1/2 carpet does not have this.
