BluePrint Engines Short Block Plus 436 HP GM 383 Small-Block Crate Engine.
Relish in a strong foundation that you can build your way via the Short Block Plus! This GM 383 small-block crate engine comes ready with all its internals sorted. BluePrint Engines designed it so you have freedom to choose your cylinder heads and accessories. Perfect for street and strip applications, it even has sonic tested cylinder bores. Meaning, the block is all but ready for performance.

- High-strength, cast iron engine block with 4.000” bore
- Operates at 436 horsepower and 443 ft.-lbs. torque
- 10.0:1 compression ratio for stronger throttle response and crisp performance
- 4-bolt main offers stronger bottom end for high-HP applications
- Cylinder bores are align honed on computer-controlled machine within .0002” straightness/roundness
- Cylinder bores are sonic tested for thickness, ensuring durability for performance upgrades
- Cast iron crankshaft with 3.750" stroke and new 5.700" rods with 150,00 PSI bolts
- Hypereutectic pistons with 12cc dish for better strength, heat resistance, and lower compression
- Hastings moly rings provide superior wear resistance, oil retention, and improved seal
- Hydraulic roller cam. with 1.6:1 rocker arms for lower maintenance and better strength
- Ignition timing: 34 degrees total at 3500 RPM
- Includes passenger-side dipstick

Additional Notes:
- Not for use in pollution-controlled vehicles.
- A bronze distributor gear is NOT recommended for use with this engine.
- This engine features a true 4” bore, which mathematically yields 377 CID with a 3.75” stroke.
- This engine requires a weighted 8'' harmonic balancer (included), and late 350 CID weighted flexplate/flywheel.
- This engine was dyno tested at BluePrint Engines’ factory with a Holley Classic 750-CFM carburetor and in-house cylinder heads (P/N: H8002K). However, not every P/N: BP38318SP engine is dyno tested. This performance is mainly to show the capability of this engine. Performance may vary depending upon what cylinder heads, fuel system, and intake manifold you choose.
