Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked with 68 GT/CS with Disc/Drum Power setup This worked for my 68 GT/CS with MP Brake booster upgrade. The MP Brake push rod in booster needed to be modified, but once I got it right, this switch did the trick, even with increased load due to the Shelby lights on these cars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great products I bought this brake light switch in order to fix the problem i had with the original brake light switch on my 1967 Ford Mustang coupe, where even after releasing the brake pedal the brake lights stay on Sometimes one side stays on and the other goes off. Note: I would recommend replacing the spacers and bushing (part numbers below) at the same time. * Master Cylinder Push Rod Spacer 1965-2004 Quantity needed x 2 * Scott Drake Master Cylinder Push Rod Bushing 1965-2004 Quantity needed x 1

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved My Problem If you converted from manual drum to power disc this is the switch for you. The manual drum switch has heavier spring tension so my brake lights would only come on if I was standing on the pedal at a stop light. Put this switch in adjusted it like the old one (bending ends of metal plate away from switch (piece of metal that pushes spring when brake pedal is pressed) makes is come on sooner) --- Presto now you can see me

I have a 1967 Mustang that originally had the drum/drum set up and then I bought the 4 lug disc brake conversion kit from here and the Power brake conversion kit from here as well. Is this the correct one that will work or do I need to get another one?

Asked by: UlrichH
If your original switch will not operate correctly than try using the HW1191. With some brake kits the end of the push rod may need cleaned up with a file for the switch to operate correctly.

Asked by: paulxr7
There are different switches available. Please call toll free at 1-800-888-6473 and speak with a sales rep. we will need some information about your car. The problem may be the push rod not depressing the switch.

Does this switch work with the power drum in rear and power disc in front on my 1967 convertible?

Asked by: Riviera Tony
Yes. Disc in the front and drum in the back is just referred to as 'Disc brakes' because Ford did not offer disc brakes in the rear during those years.
