Mustangs from 1966 used a new design for how the parking brake worked in the rear of the car. This new factory style had one cable connecting both rear brakes together with a single curved cable equalizer to apply the parking brake. The cable runs through the new equalizer and the equalizer connects to the front parking brake cable by attaching to the parking brake equalizer rod and lever.

This OEM-style, heavy-duty steel parking brake cable equalizer is a perfect factory-like replacement part for your 1966 Mustang's parking brake assembly. The parking brake cable lays inside the equalizer while the parking brake equalizer rod attaches through the top of the parking brake cable equalizer to secure it.
