This Turbo Blanket Kit (8F1650) made by COBB is constructed with fragmentized fire retardant volcanic rock outer layer and is internally insulated with high temperature calcium magnesium silicate wool. The outside layer is rated for 1500°F Direct Heat and 1800°F Radiant Heat. The inside layer is rated for 1800°F Direct Heat and 2300°F Peak Heat. Because of these materials, the turbo blanket (8F1650) is able to limit the amount of heat transfer from your turbocharger to your engine bay, as well as being able to retain hotter exhaust gases that exit the system quicker through reduced density.
