If you own an SN95 Mustang you're obviously probably familiar with the common problems that plague the door cups on these cars. Usually one of several things is going to happen. Either it wears out here and looks horrible or when you pull the door cup, it actually separates from the door and pulls away from the door and doesn't close the door properly. This is a very simple problem to fix, and today we're going to show you how using this '01 Bullet.

Door cups are going to be available for your coupe or convertible in all the factory colors, including the black, tan, saddle, as well as the charcoal we'll be installing on 2001 Bullet. The installation is very simple of these OEM products and we're going to show you how to do it.

Typically the only tool you're going to need to install the door cups is going to be a Phillips-head screwdriver. We're going to start by removing it right here. I do want to make a point of mentioning that if this part of your door panel is damaged, then replacing the door cup's probably not going to fix your issue. You may need a whole new door panel. Typically though, these are okay and the door panel's a problem, simply push down here and pull out. Now there's normally a clip back here. This is another common area these things break. In the case of our Bullet, this is where this one's broken off at.

Going to flip the door cup over, remove the two screws holding our window switches in place. Then pop the clip for the mirrors. The nearest switch is held to the door cup by this little push pin. Simply just push this pad in and slide it through. I'm going to lift it back first and then push it through. Take the window switch. It will just pop right into place on our new door cup. We'll install the switch assembly. Plug in the mirrors. At this point, test everything. Make sure the mirrors are working. Make sure that the door lock works. Don't worry about the windows. If the lock works, if the windows weren't before, they're going to work now as well.

Now what you'll want to do is line this clip up with this opening in the back here and then push the door panel cup into place. That's all there is to it. Repeat the process if you're replacing the passenger side, and you're all finished. Replacing the door cups in your SN95 Mustang not only improvements the function of the door but it also looks a hack of a lot better without the door cup falling off. Installation's very simple, like I said. The only tool required is a Phillips-head screwdriver. Take about five minutes per side and you'll be back on the road in no time.
