Cold air intakes are one of the easiest ways to improve the performance and efficiency of your vehicle. So, today we're going to be installing this Flow Master Delta Force Cold Air Intake on our 2017 F-150 Raptor.
This Flow Master Cold Air Intake is a must have for your Raptor if you're looking for an affordable way to make it breathe better for improved performance. It was made right here in the USA, and features a single piece high flow polyethylene intake tube with a massive pre-oiled intake air filter protected by a powder coated heat shield. It comes with everything you need for an easy install, so today we're going to install it on our 2017 F-150 Raptor.
Tools you'll need for this installation: 7mm Socket, 8mm socket, 1/4 inch ratchet, 5/32 hex key, 3/8 ratchet, and a pair of cutters.
This intake is pretty simple to install. The first thing we're going to do is remove the factory one. First thing we're going to do is pop off the clips on the factory air box. Then loosen this clamp with a 17mm socket. And then this clamp down here as well. To loosen this clamp, the head of the screw is on the other side, it's kind of hard to see, but it's just on the other side of this tube. With both clamps loosened, you can now remove the entire intake. Unplug this intake sensor. Then remove the filter.
We can begin to assemble our new intake starting with the velocity stack, and the heat shield. Line the stack up with the holes on the heat shield, and install the provided screws. The rubber trim can then be installed onto the heat shield. Firmly press it into place. Once you get it in place, you can trim off the excess. Flip the heat shield over, and then on all four edges, install the provided sticky foam.
The air filter can then be installed onto the velocity stack. Grab your Delta Force intake tube and install the provided grommet. Remove the factory intake sensor from the intake by twisting it and pulling it out. Lubricate the grommet with a little bit of WD40. Now install the intake sensor into the grommet. You want this locking tab on the sensor to be facing the air filter. Install the couplers and clamps onto the intake tube. This can now go on the vehicle.
Slide the couplers over the factory intake tubes, then the air filter, and then the coupler. Everything is in place, you can now tighten all the clamps. Get the tube clips on the air box. Don't forget to plug in your intake sensor. Then your installation is finished.
Okay, we've got our Flow Master Delta Force Cold Air Intake installed. I'm loving the way it looks. It should help our truck to breathe a lot better, and you'll hear those nice induction noises when you rev it up. Install is not too bad either, it's only going to take you about an hour. And before you know it, you'll be heading off road.
