Please Note: Designed to be used with the 2015-2017 5.0L Coyote Long Block (M-6006-M50A). If used with a engine removed from a 5.0L Mustang with a build date after February 23rd, 2016, you will need the updated coil packs (M-12029-M50E) along with the oil pressure switch from the newer engine block.

I have the engine harness, ECM, air box and tube with the mass air flow, and the electronic gas pedal from a 2015 mustang to go with the coyote motor I pulled. Can I use these items to get my engine to run in a 1951 mercury? If not. What do I need to do?

By Bill Tumas: We’re here with a Ford Performance engine harness fitting the 2015 through 2017 Coyote Engine with manual transmission.

This Ford Performance engine harness is made right here in the USA, and is the OEM harness for the 2015 through 2017 Mustang GT with manual transmission. This is perfect for the Ford Performance long block as it gives you all the wiring necessary to hook up to either the factory Ford control pack or an aftermarket standalone EFI.

This is the Ford Performance long block we showed you in a recent Fast Take video. Now since we showed you that, we installed a 2015 takeoff intake and a set of Ford Performance coils. Now we're going to show you the basics of how the wiring harness is going to install to the engine.

This is the main connector for the harness, this is going to come off the front of the passenger side valve cover. The smaller plug here is going to plug into your computer, the larger plug is going to plug into the actual wiring for the control pack. We're going to start with the passenger side by connecting the cam sensors, so it is plug and play, so basically what's you're going to do is just find what plugs fit which locations, and then connect everything. We're going to set the connector for the throttle body here, and this will plug into this sensor which we'll add later.

Then all down the side, now you have your injector plug, and your coil plugs. Now I'll do the same thing on the passenger side. It's easier actually to do both of these first, then we'll do the front and back last. I'm going to plug the passenger side sensors in. Now with the harness hanging down the side here, we're going to put this on the stud. This goes down here. And this plugs into the pan. And the plug we have left will be for the alternator once you install it.

Those remaining connections in the back of the engine, remember all the plugs are going to be unique, so if the plug fits, basically you know you have it in the right location. Once you get the wires placed, then these little Christmas tree clips kind of keep everything where it belongs.

If you're planning to install the Coyote long block in your Mustang or any other vehicle you're doing a swap in, this harness is a must-have. Best part about this, if you with the Ford Racing control pack, that harness will plug into it and make for a very easy plug and play installation.
