Product Description

Ford Performance Focus RS 4-Piston Brembo Front Brake Kit for all 2013-2018 Focus STs.

In the tuning world, it is quite popular to take upgraded parts from an existing sportier model and apply it to your car. With the 2013-2018 Focus ST, this wasn’t really an option. Until now! The release of the Focus ST’s sportier big brother, the Focus RS opens up the ST to OEM upgrades like this Focus RS 4-Piston Brembo Front Brake Kit from Ford Performance.

Ford Performance Focus RS 4-Piston Brembo Front Brake Kit M-2300-W Benefits and Features:
- Original Equipment on the 2016-2017 Focus RS
- Brembo 4-Piston Caliber
- Improved Braking Performance
- Enhanced Inner Wheel Appearance
- RS Blue Finish
- 13.7” Vented RS Brake Rotors

These 4-piston Brembo calipers come stock on the Focus RS and are a big upgrade over the ST’s front calipers. They provide more clamping force that will bring your Focus to a halt much faster. Aiding the calipers in slowing your ST down is a pair of large 13.7” vented rotors that provides more surface area for the pads to bite into. Also included with the kit are RS brake pads, RS brake hoses, RS brake air deflector kit and all the hardware needed for installation.

This RS brake kit is a great enhancement to your ST’s braking performance. It will also look great on your ST with the RS blue finished calipers.

Kit Includes:
- RS Brembo Calipers
- Production RS Brake Rotors
- Production RS Brake Pads
- RS Brake Hoses
- RS Brake Air Deflector Kit
- All Necessary Hardware for Installation

For years, hot-rodders have taken parts from one model and put them on another to increase performance. Today's world, it's actually a lot easier because a lot of the top end models have parts that can easily transfer down to the others. The Focus ST is a perfect choice. The Focus RS is the top line in a great car, but a lot of the parts will transfer down to the Focus which is a great car in its own right.

On our Focus ST, so far we've installed the Focus RS rear wing and today we're going to install the Ford Performance RS Front Brake Package. What makes the RS a great car is not only its crazy acceleration with its all-wheel drive and its power plant but its killer brakes as well. This is the factory braking system off the 2016 Focus RS. It will fit your 2013 through 2016 Focus ST. It includes a pair of these Brembo four piston calipers with pads and a nitrous blue powder coat, with all the necessary lines, hardware, air deflectors, and these massive 13.7 inch vented rotors. This is going to be a direct replacement for the factory brakes, again on any 2013 through 2016 Focus ST.

For this installation get a lift or a jack and jack stands, quarter inch ratchet, eight millimeter socket, 10 millimeter socket, 3/8 ratchet, 18 millimeter socket, 7 millimeter Alan key, torque wrench, 3/8 line wrench, 9/16 line wrench, hammer, small flat blade screwdriver, and a punch.

He mentioned before, the brake's going to be a direct replacement, so the first step obviously is to remove the factory brakes. It does include lines as well, so we start by removing the line by disconnecting the bolt from the stand-off here, and disconnecting the line here and then finally from the caliper. We're removing the line now where it connects to the hardline.

Obviously we're disconnecting the line so you are going to lose some fluid here. Just put a drip pan underneath it. Now we're going to move on to the caliper. Disconnect down here as well. With the line disconnected, now we can remove this retainer back here, and remove it from the car.

With the line out of the way we can move on to the caliper. We're going to start by removing the spring from the front here. Pop the caps off the back as well. Two bolts in there. With the caliper out of the way these two bolts here now we can remove the caliper bracket.

This point you can take the rotor off. If you get lucky it might come off. In our case, our car's seen a few Pennsylvania winters and got a little bit of rust on it. Tap with a hammer a little bit to loosen it up.

At this point you're going to want to test fit your caliper, because there actually are two different splash shields that came on the Focus. Want to make sure you get the correct caliper, again we're working on the left front. What you're going to do is basically grab the bolts, just line it up on here with nothing else on it. What we're checking for is to make sure that the caliper clears the splash shield.

To get proper clearance here and the same down here, there are some splash shields that come out a little further, that piece you'll have to cut out to use these brakes. Some of the later Focuses though don't have that. So you're going to have to check when you do this installation. In our case, we have clearance so we can leave our splash shield alone. We're not going to have to modify it. Now we can begin our installation.

Since our splash shield's good we install our RS rotor. Now the caliper comes so loaded so it is ready to install. Line it up. Install in factory holes. The original hardware is the same, but Ford does provide new bolts. Now we're going to torque these down. Now we're going to put the new brake line into place. Going to press the line down into there. Install the retainer. Now we're going to push the line back here. Get it in place where it fits into the stand-off. Loosely install that screw to make it not move. From the back of the caliper pull out the little green piece there. Make sure the washers are on each side of this and bolt it on. Now, I want to go back up here and tighten down this line. And finally tighten the bolt here.

Now once the installation is finished, Ford does provide additional air deflectors to put more air to your Brembos. To install them, simply put them up over the control arm, and they'll sort of pop into place. They supply a push pin. Just pop on like that.

At this point, Ford recommends if you want maximum are to your Brembos, to take this tag which is just rubber and simply cut it off. In our case we're not going to do that. I think plenty of air's getting there, but if you wanted to you can just cut this right across here. Now air will go right into the deflector and into your brakes. At that point what you want to do is repeat the process on the other side. Bleed your brakes and your installation's finished.

I want to talk a little bit about wheel fitment as well. Your stock wheels from your Focus ST are not going to clear the RS brakes. So if you're looking to do this kind of a brake set up, you want to make sure you get proper wheels that will work as well. In our case, we're running 18 inch TSW Nurburgring that fits no problem at all. Most 18s and 19s will fit. Obviously anything listed on our website that fits the RS will work with these brakes on your ST.

While the factory brakes on an ST definitely aren't bad, the four piston Brembos from the RS from Ford Performance is going to be a huge upgrade over the single pistons, especially if you do track days where the car's going to see a lot of heat in the brakes. The installation is pretty straight forward overall. Take you around two to two and a half hours. Be back on the road in no time.
