The Ford Performance shift knob is a classic cue ball style shift knob that features a six speed pattern white on the top, along with Ford Performance on both sides. This would be a direct replacement for the factory shift knob on your manual transmission 2015 through 2017 Mustang. It installs easily using Loctite.
Installation of the shift knob is going to be very easy. What you want to do first, put the car into reverse. Then grab the factory knob, turn it counterclockwise to remove it.
Ford does provide a lock nut to hold the shift knob in place. Unfortunately though there's no way to get to it to tighten it. We found a better way to go, use some red thread locker. Put that on the threads. You want to grab the shift ball. Thread it down. The reason we have it in reverse is we want to make sure the lock out still works. You're going to thread it down basically until it hits the lock out. Then you'll thread out one full turn out and then check it. Make sure it goes in reverse. Get the knob nice and centered. Get it exactly where you want it. Simply let it set up. Within an hour it'll be stiff but I like to let it sit overnight. That way it'll be locked in place and won't have any issues. Your installation's finished.
