Rated 3 out of 5 by Pilgrimsdad from Poor quality of threaded fender inserts. I got my kit fast. When installing them the next day, following the instructions exactly one of the fender insert nuts stripped. The instructions say to torque to 20 ft lbs. they are cheap stamped sheet metal. I ended up making 2 of my own out of 3/8" stock from Lowes. I even put the other one in my vice and it striped @ 12 lbs. the rest of the kit is great and does not effect hood alignment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by TD15StangGTPP from Ford Racing Hood Strut Kit I installed the hood strut kit with no issues. Struts are a bit slow in the cold weather but should be ok in the summer. Dislike the design, issues with aluminum flex and bouncing hood. Won't do well with any wind! Other vendors have more support because the hood mount bracket is bigger and I suspect wouldn't flex (as much). This kit cost the least of the kits available and now I know why.... Fyi if you have the same hardware problems, Redline Tuning has a revised upper mount. In the end I will have saved nothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Numberoneyanksfan from So easy to install, a Grandma can do it. Super easy to install, looks and performs very well. With the weight of these hoods, why Ford still uses the prop rod is beyond my comprehension. If I, as a 51 year old grandma can install these, anyone can. Great service and fast shipping too, thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Downunder Mustang Lover from Great product from Ford Racing I just installed this hood strut kit on my right-hand drive 2016 GT...was easy to install and works well...the install is reverse on RHD as the battery is located on the left hand side of the car...also needed a 14mm socket as a 13mm would not fit....also suggest cutting a little slot in the battery cover so you can take it off without having to disconnect the hood strut...well done Ford Racing on another great product (too bad none of these parts have any warranty over here in Australia!!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by OracleHCR from Nice hood struts I was looking for an alternative to the out-dated prop rod and found these. They are great looking hood struts that are easy to install. Watch the video and the installation will go smooth. They are less expensive than the other hood struts on the market and they do their job well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JDFTWTX from You need this Easy 15 minute install. They look good and get that annoying "kick stand" out of the way. The only issue I see is that the brackets are very small and do not support the hood very well. There is some flex and i worry that over time the hood may bend. Also the fender brackets twist no matter how tight I torque them.

Hi. I am from Argentina. Will this kit fit for Mustang GT 5.0 2017? and which is the risk for using it outside USA?
We do NOT recommend using this kit on models outside of the US due to the active hood safety feature.

After installation, Is it hard to disconnect the strut to take the battery cover off?
I just installed this on my 19 gt. If you simply cut from the fender side to the hole you drilled it'll work. I cut everything out from the fender side along both sides of the strut bracket.

Will this Kit fit a 2019 Mustang Bullitt? The Bullitt contains many simular parts as the GT 350.
I installed on my 2019 Bullitt

one of your competitor's has this same kit listed for the 18 gt and say's it fit's you say it don't which one is it yes or no ? thanks want to order from you alone with other stuff but want to know for sure if it fit's
I just installed them in my 2019 Bullitt. Couple of hopefully minor details. That are not limited to the Bullitt. 1st. One of the fender brackets I received has alignment pins the other doesn't. In watching the video from CJ Pony Parts nothing is mentioned about these alignment pins. I carefully watched the install video over and over and it shows the guy installing the fender bracket with the pins on the passenger side of the car with the pins toward the front of the car. When you read the instructions that came with the kit it says to install the bracket with pins facing the firewall, which would put the pinned bracket on the driver side of the car. Not sure if it will make a difference. Also the video also says that the allen bolt that holds the fender bracket is 1/4 inch to be torqued to 20 ft. LBS The bolt that came with my kit requires a 6MM allen and still needs to be torqued to 20ft. LBS..

Hi, you mention an Active Hood Safety Feature as why this hood strut is not recommended for Mustang models outside the U.S. What is this feature as I would like to fit one to my 2019 Bullitt in NZ? We have RHD vehicles.
The simplest way to describe it is during a crash the hood retracts.
