This Hurst Competition Installation Kit is designed to be installed with the Hurst Competition Shifter. The Hurst Competition Shifter is a performance shifter that provides better shifts in a 1967-1969 Mustang with a big block engine. When you change to the Hurst Competition Shifter, the original transmission arms aren’t in the correct location. This kit will make sure all parts of the transmission will be in the correct place when installing the Competition Shifter.

Please Note: This kit fits big block model Mustangs with or without a console. The shifter is not included in this kit.

I have a 460 big block installed in my 1970 Mustang Mach 1 with 3-speed manual transmission. When buying the Hurst Competition Plus shifter (to upgrade to a 4-speed manual), will I need this 'big block' mounting kit? Or the small block mounting kit?

Asked by: bschodts
I would suggest the big block kit.
