Increase airflow and get serious results with this awesome cold air intake from Injen. This is an SP intake, replacing every component in the OEM system, including the airbox and the intake pipe. The SP9003 includes a 3" aluminum pipe which routes all the way to the turbo, with all of the necessary parts to produce a perfect fit. The heat shield has a similar shape to the stock airbox, but is open on the sides and top, so that the filter is exposed to more air while also sealing the top of the shield against the hood, helping to block engine heat. It uses the factory air inlet ducts, grabbing air right from the front of your RS.

Injen has put its intakes through miles of road testing and countless Dyno runs to ensure repeatable and reliable max gains of 17 horsepower and 20 ft-lb of torque. No cutting or modifications to factory components is necessary. This air intake is a direct bolt-on for the 2016-2018 Ford Focus RS, and comes with all necessary hardware to allow for a quick and easy installation.

Injen Technology was formed after absorbing the experience, design capabilities and quality standards of its sister company RD Metal Works. In 2003, Injen launched Super SES stainless steel cat-back exhaust systems to complement their line of air intake systems. By 2005, Injen started producing the SP Series Air Intake Systems. The SP Series intake is equipped with MR Technology, making it the world's first tuned air intake system!

Cold air intakes and exhausts are probably the two most common modifications people make to their cars. Get more air in and more air out is the best way to make horsepower and torque from any vehicle. So the case for our Focus RS here, looking to make a little more horsepower out of this without getting to a tune yet. Today we're going to install this cold air intake from engine.

This cold air intake from engine will be a direct replacement for the factory air intake on your 2016 through 2017 Focus RS. Like I mentioned, will not require any sort of custom tuning. That includes a heat shield, high flow filter, all the necessary hardware, and this three inch inlet tube. The tube shown here is available in a Wrinkle Red finish and it's also available in a Wrinkle Black, Wrinkle Hyper Blue, which is very similar to Nitrous Blue, and also in a polished aluminum.

This kit again, is as direct replacement for the original, and engine claims gains of 17 horsepower and 20 pound feet of torque.

For this installation, you need a quarter inch ratchet. Seven millimeter socket, eight millimeter socket, ten millimeter socket, an extension. Ten millimeter wrench, pair of pliers, drill, and a three eights drill bit.

Our cold air kit is going to basically replace this section right here. So we're going to start by removing our engine cover, so we have a little more access.

To remove this pipe, we have to remove this clamp here, this one down here at the box, and this bolt holding it to the engine.

Okay, now we're going to remove the tube.

Disconnect this hose.

So, we'll disconnect the sensor. Pull the little plastic plug off, and carefully remove the air box just by lifting up.

The final part of disassembly, is to remove this snorkel.

Before beginning installation, we do have one more thing to do on our engine bay here, we have to move this ground. Basically, you're just going to move it over to this bolt. So what we're going to do, is take it out, just open up the hole a bit, and then ground it over here.

What we have to do is bend this tab flat, and then drill this hole out to three eights of an inch.

Now remove the bolt for the other ground.

Now move this over.

Now we'll prep the shield for installation. You want to grab the smaller seal, it's going to go in this little U, here.

Then the larger one goes across the top.

To install the heat shield, grab a supplied spacer. This is going to go underneath the outside hole, here, with a hardware and washer. Now what this is going to do, this is going to thread right into that hole where you removed the ground earlier.

The other side here, the other tab, it's going to come through the factor air box opening. You line it up, put a bolt in from the bottom.

Then washer and a nut.

And tighten this down.

Before we install the intake two, we're going to grab this standoff here, it's going to go in the factory air clip, right here in the back. Just push it down, that will hold part of our intake two. We're ready to install the intake two now, we'll take the silicone coupler and put it over the edge, here.

Put a clamp on it.

Then we want to tighten the clamp down, just get rid of some of the slack. Same thing with the other clamp. I'll put this up into place.

Then we'll tighten down the clamps.

With the tube connected, we're going to put a washer into the nut down here on the standoff we installed earlier.

We'll install the factory clip, right here. Put the hose in, and reconnect. With the tube matted, now we can install the filter.

Our last step, we're going to grab the sensor from our factory air box, turn it, pull it out, and plug it in. Install in the air tube. Check it's flush. Reinstall the engine cover, and your installation is finished.

All right, let's fire up our RS, we'll see how it sounds with our engine intake.

Yeah, definitely louder than the factory intake and you hear a lot more of the air coming in.

Well, a red engine intake might not have been my first choice for our Nitrous Blue RS, I actually like the way it looks under the hood. It really pops and it matches the Ford Performance logo as well. As far as the installation, it's pretty straight forward, should take you no more than about an hour or so, be back on the road in no time.
